About

Motivation

Multichannel output systems are big and expensive. A pro-audio USB interface might offer eight analog outs, but it likely takes a rack worth of space. The Periphon I16 is the first USB audio interface that offers 16-channels of balanced analog output, that can fit in the space of paperback.

Periphon exists to deliver rich multi-channel sound in never-before possible spaces. Built to be affordable and embeddedable, rich mutlti channel audio is now possible.

TODO: a second paragraph on the approach: the interfaces, power, and loudspeakers designed together as one system rather than as separate boxes.

TODO: a third paragraph on who it is for and how people use it.

About me

Portrait

After receiving an undergraduate degree in Music from Harvard University, Christopher Ariza began exploring computer music and algorithmic composition in 2000 as an NYU graduate student. He composed quadraphonic electro-acoustic compositions as early as 2002, and went on to compose eight-channel compositions in 2007 and 2009. As an Assistant Professor of Music Technology at Towson University, he taught students recording techniques. As Visiting Assistant Professor at MIT, he led students in hardware hacking and live electronics performance on laptops. After 14 years of enterprise software engineering and leadership, culminating in serving as CTO at Research Affiliates, Christopher returns to his origins with Periphon.

All Periphon products are designed in California. Electronics are internationally sourced and assembled. Loudspeakers are hand-built in California using internationally sourced materials.
